On March 28, 2026, Guantao held the seminar "Chinese Enterprises' New Quality Productive Forces and Overseas Expansion" as part of the opening activities for Guantao Zhuhai Office. The event was jointly hosted by Gree Electric Appliances, the Civil and Commercial Law School of Beijing Institute of Technology, Zhuhai, and Beijing Guantao Law Firm, organized by Guantao Zhuhai Office and supported by Hengqin-Shenzhen Cooperation Zone Industrial Investment Promotion Co., Ltd.
The seminar was co-hosted by He Jing and Li Han of Guantao Zhuhai Office.
The seminar brought together corporate, academic and legal-practice participants to discuss how Chinese companies can build legal and commercial resilience when expanding internationally. The core themes included outbound compliance, intellectual-property protection, data security, ESG rules and practical market-entry risk control.
Han Dejing, Director of Guantao Law Firm, delivered opening remarks on Guantao's strategic presence in Zhuhai and its role in serving the Greater Bay Area. He also addressed the current international economic environment and the need for high-quality international operations supported by law and business integration.
Gree's party secretary Shu Lizhi noted that Gree will continue accelerating its global layout, moving from product export toward brand export and standards export. In a more complex international legal environment, companies need deeper collaboration among enterprises, law firms and universities.
Professor Yang Chengming, Dean of the Civil and Commercial Law School of Beijing Institute of Technology, Zhuhai, discussed ESG challenges faced by Chinese low-altitude economy companies entering European and US markets, emphasizing technology empowerment and localization as practical routes.
Roundtable: Legal Risk Prevention for Chinese Companies Going Global
The first expert roundtable was moderated by Zou Jun, Managing Partner of Guantao. Xu Zhiming, Vice President of Zhuhai International Arbitration Court; Professor Tu Guangjian of the University of Macau Faculty of Law; Huang Fulong, Executive Director of Guantao Shenzhen Office; Qiu Wenqing, Director of Guantao Kunming Office; and Lu Xingwei, partner at Guantao Shanghai Office, joined the discussion on cross-border dispute resolution, export controls, international arbitration, regional deployment and other practical issues that commonly arise when companies expand abroad.
Roundtable: IP Protection and Data Compliance
The second roundtable, moderated by Guantao Hangzhou partner Feng Nianqun, focused on domestic and overseas intellectual-property protection and data compliance for companies driven by new quality productive forces. Professor Yi Zaicheng, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Law of Macau University of Science and Technology; Professor Chen Zhijie, Director of Jinan University's Law and Policy Practice Center; Li Hongjiang, Director of Guantao's Intellectual Property Committee; and Dandan Fei, partner at Guantao Shenzhen Office, discussed coordinated IP protection, cross-border data compliance and value conversion of innovation assets.
The seminar focused on outbound compliance, intellectual-property protection, data security and ESG rules, bringing together corporate, academic and legal-practice participants to explore a law-and-business path for Chinese enterprises' global development. Guantao Zhuhai Office will use this event to continue integrating cross-border legal-service resources and deepening its professional capacity in IP, data compliance, ESG governance and dispute resolution.
